The people behind the food

Almost none of this is ours alone. These are the growers, butchers, fishers, and farms whose work ends up on your table. If you cook at home, go find them yourself. That is the point of a food economy.

Butcher

The Chop Shop

Whole animal butchery and the cuts that do not show up in a case somewhere else.

Seafood

Mother Ocean

Fresh fish brought inland, which is harder than it sounds at this elevation.

Mushrooms

Black Trumpet Farm

USDA Organic gourmet and medicinal mushrooms grown in Asheville. Family owned, mindfully grown.

Menus lean on what is good that week. When a local grower has something at its peak, it goes on the menu. When the dish calls for something outside the season, we source it well and say so. Local first, honest always.
